“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” – Colossians 3:23-24
This may not seem to be a profound thought, or even deeply spiritual - but I believe it can help us in our everyday walk. It is so simple, just celebrate the little victories.
A lot of times we are looking for a Goliath slaying, or fire from heaven, or the dead being raised type of event that will encourage us and motivate us. I've had this on my mind for quite a while that we need to celebrate, to praise the Lord, when the little things in life happen. Celebrate the sunshine, or having the strength to get the housework done, or the yard mowed. Celebrate and give God praise for health, or just having peace in a world full of turmoil. Celebrate when your child, or grandchild does something ordinary like praying for their cat when they thought no one was watching.
God gives us small victories every day. And we should praise and celebrate the small things as much as the big ones. Praise the Lord when you overcome a temptation, when you hold your tongue, when you pray instead of gossip!
It's in these celebrations that we realize how wonderful and loving our Savior and God really is. So...go celebrate!
