Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

What are you looking at?  All of us do it, the constant pull to check the social media platforms.  The 24/7 news cycle.  Listening and reading...everything except the Bible! Here's a thought, why don't we, and that means myself too, spend more time in God's Word and

Rich and Happy?

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Television celebrity Simon Cowell doesn’t like most rich people. In The U.S. Sun, he said, “I think a lot of those people thought they were better than other people because they had money, which is ridiculous when you think about it.” He recalls asking his fiancée, “Do we actually know anyone who’s rich … and

God Sees All So I reflected on all this, attempting to clear it all up. I concluded that the righteous and the wise, as well as their works, are in the hand of God; whether a person will be loved or hated—no one knows what lies ahead. Ecclesiastes 9:1, NET

I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.

Ecclesiastes 3:12, NIV

As a young U.S. Marine in Vietnam, Scott Harrison found solace in a small music box he held to his ear to distract him from the horrors of war. He would close his eyes and think of a carousel.

Galatians 4:4

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

In context this verse is referring to the birth of Christ, how he was born according to God's timing, not man's.  It was not random.  It was not accidental that Jesus was born when and where he was.  God had everything in place for the Lamb of God to come and take away the sin of the world.

When we look at our current news it reveals a world that is chaotic

2026 The Year of Arrival

It doesn't seem possible does it?  Another year has come and gone, and we have entered into a new year.  Have you set goals for the new year yet?  Are they reachable goals?  Are they goals that require faith and trust in Christ?

Why not start with this principle from God's Word:   "No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and recei

There seems to be two camps today relating to the End Times.  People are either trying to hide away from what they fear is the coming Apocalypse, or anything resembling the End of the Age, or life as we know it is discounted as fantasy.  Either one cam become a trap to biblical faith!  Will there really come an End?  Is a coming Apocalypse a reality?  Maybe we should see if the Bible says anything about an even so earth shattering it affects the whole world.  One Apocalyps

We are doing a deep study on Wednesday nights that I am not going to be able to replicate here, but I believe the Lord wants you to know there is a way to live in victory in this present life.   There is victory over sin and Satan's pressure revealed in God's Word. Galatians 5::16-18 says,

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spir

Setting yourself up for miracles

In 1 Kings, chapters 17-19 the bible gives us the story of the prophet Elijah. There are multiple lessons we can glean from his life and ministry, but the one we can focus on here is what Elijah did to position himself (and the nation of Israel) for a miracle.

There will probably be a sermon on this in the future, so I won't get too wordy in this devotional.  What the Lord is impressing on me is how Elijah faced the "Woke" or "Correct" crowd of his day.  Elijah faced them w

1 Thessalonians 5:23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

One of the greatest revelations I've received from God's Word is how we are a triune being, made in the image of God. As God is one God, triune as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; we are also three parts: spirit, soul, and body.

You say back to me, "So why is that important?"  I'll give us one

It doesn't matter how bad it gets...

In Luke 8, there is the story often called "The mad man of Gadara.".  As we read we discover that life for this man had gone from bad, to worse, to horrible.  I don't really think that one day he got up and said to himself, "I think I'll go crazy and life in the graveyard."  It was a progression resulting from sin that finally culminated in the condition he was in.  Having this background in mind, realizing that for him things were bad - we also need to understand how Jesu

God wants You to know there is hope!

When we read in Mark 4 we understand from what Jesus said that Satan attacks us to steal the effectiveness of God's Word in our life. On the authority of God's Word I can tell you that we DO NOT HAVE TO ALLOW THE DEVIL TO STEAL THE WORD FROM OUR HEART!  The very fact that Jesus concludes His teaching by saying we can have results that can be 30% to 100%.  That means the devil isn't that powerful, the devil isn't that smart, the devil isn't bigger that our Lord Jesus!

So how
