Galatians 6:9 says this:  "9So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up." NLT

Do you ever get tired? I know I do!  Even doing good things, going to church, doing the work of the ministry, helping people, we simply get tired.   But Jesus told us His yoke is easy and His burden light.  So perhaps there are some things we need to DO that are good, here's a short list:

1) Take time, MAKE time for prayer.  I promise you the main thing Satan will fight you over is prayer time!  It seems like our prayers are often not reaching higher than our head...that's all the higher they need to reach.  We can't be loud enough to physically reach heaven, but the Holy Spirit is ever present and He hears every prayer.  God isn't deaf, He hears you.  Keep praying.

2) Find your true purpose, and do it.  There's an entire sermon in just this thought, but we can find our purpose - if we will seek the Lord with all our heart.  What I can tell you in this short devotional is if you will seek the Lord, He will be found of you.  He will reveal your purpose. It won't be in just making money, or gaining fame, or sensual pleasure. Your purpose is in Christ, and there is fulfillment there that cannot be reached any other way.

3) This may sound carnal, but you need to get the proper rest and exercise.  If you go back and read in Genesis the creation of man, God created man on the 6th day and then the 7th day was a day of rest. We are way too frantic and overwhelmed with all the stuff we have to do!

4) Do not try to please people, please God.  Maybe you haven't noticed but people are fickle.  Their emotions go up and down, but God is constant - the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  Hebrews 11 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God - implying that with faith it is possible to please God! So if we are to quit anything, let's quit trying to please people and just focus on the One who really matters.  Yes, it is okay to want to have the best relationship possible with our spouse, our children, even coworkers and church members and friends. But our focus must be on the One who redeemed us.

And there is reward, you will "reap" if you do not faint.
