Did you know if you do a word search in Revelation for "new" there are 7 verses that come up?  Because we are in such prophetic times, and because God's Word is timeless, there are lessons we can receive from each verse.  How about applying them to the first week of January 2025!

  • 1. Revelation 2:17

    He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

    APPLICATION:  Don't let your past determine your future, or who you are.  When you were born again you received a new name!

  • 2. Revelation 3:12

    Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. APPLICATION: Perhaps the Lord was referring to Himself, but perhaps He was referring to our new name. Which ever way that happens, we have a new home, the new Jerusalem in His presence!

  • 3.  Revelation 5:9
    And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation. APPLICATION: Only those redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb can comprehend how glorious it is to be saved from sin. We really do have something to give us hope and joy!

  • 4.  Revelation 14:3

    And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

    APPLICATION:  Since having a new song is repeated, can you imagine what singing in heaven is going to sound like?  You've never been to a concert like this on will be!

  • 5.  Revelation 21:1

    And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

    APPLICATION:  I've stood above tree line on snowy slopes in the Rockies.  I've seen awesome structures costing untold millions on other continents, and experienced everything from deserts to rain forests.. But nothing will compare to the world and heaven we will exist in through eternity...

  • 6.  Revelation 21:2

    And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. APPLICATION: "Prepared as a bride for her husband..." Stop and think a minute, when the bride is coming down the isle she isn't wearing rollers in her hair. She doesn't have sweats on. She has her makeup perfect, she has her hair fixed, she is adorned to bring out her beauty - she's perfect. That's what it will be like where we are going, Perfect.

  • 7.  Revelation 21:5

    And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. APPLICATION: Have you begun to get a mental picture of heaven? Of being in the Lord's presence? From the singing, to the streets of gold, to the trees by the river of Life, Everything will be new, perfect, flooded and permeated with the presence of our Lord an God.

  • So enter into 2025 expecting the NEW thing the Lord has for you!
